Welcome to SafeDate ID ("SafeDate ID," "we," "our," or "us"). SafeDate ID operates a mutual identity verification service designed to improve personal safety and trust in online dating interactions.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, process, store, and protect personal information when individuals access or use our website, applications, and related services available through safedateid.com (the "Services").

5. Biometric Data Processing
Important Notice
SafeDate ID does not store biometric identifiers or biometric templates on its own servers.
Where identity verification requires facial comparison, biometric processing is performed solely by our identity verification processor, Didit.
Prior to any biometric processing:
- users receive a separate biometric consent notice;
- users must provide explicit consent;
- biometric processing occurs only for identity verification purposes.
Didit is contractually required to:
- process biometric data solely for identity verification;
- comply with applicable privacy laws;
- delete verification data within thirty (30) days after collection.
SafeDate ID does not retain, sell, lease, disclose, or otherwise commercially exploit biometric information.
Illinois Residents
Because Illinois imposes additional biometric compliance obligations under the Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA), SafeDate ID currently does not offer identity verification services to residents of Illinois.
6. Legal Basis for Processing
European Economic Area (GDPR)
We process personal data under one or more of the following legal bases:

- liveness verification.
Characteristics:
- eIDAS-certified provider;
- servers located within the European Economic Area;
- verification data deleted after thirty (30) days.
Stripe
Purpose:
- payment processing;
- subscription management;
- fraud prevention.
Stripe processes payment information according to its own privacy policies and regulatory obligations.
We maintain contractual agreements with our processors where required by law.
9. International Data Transfers
Personal information may be transferred internationally.
Where required, SafeDate ID implements safeguards including:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs);
- adequacy decisions;

- equivalent safeguards under applicable laws.
10. Data Retention

- Account information: Duration of account + up to 24 months
- Security logs: Up to 24 months
- Payment records: As required by law
- Identity verification results: Up to 24 months
- Biometric verification data processed by Didit: Deleted within 30 days
After expiration of retention periods, data is securely deleted or anonymized.

No system can guarantee absolute security.
